We have arrived to the 12^th edition of the FICAB through a vertiginous path; we have been at the edge of a cliff, with bleary vision, tension and uncertainty in the air and a soundtrack of suspense as in the best movies!

When the outlook was the darkest, the small lights of the support of our unconditional public enabled us to move forward; then, it has dawned and the horizon has cleared up with the help of private initiative (La Caixa and Mugaburu) who joined the municipal support. We will have one less day of projections, three instead of four, but the quality of the films is absolutely guaranteed.

The chapters of other editions, dedicated to Paleolithic, Egypt, Antiquity, Middle Ages and post-medieval times, will be kept, as well as the cultures of other continents. We will have big productions and more than one release. The winning films from the Rovereto Festival (Italy) and Icronos (Bordeaux) will also be here to take part in the FICAB, so we will enjoy a selected and very attractive program.

We will have the chance to meet our European ancestors, the first computer in history - with more than 2,000 years of antiquity-, our neighbors the Gauls in several facets unknown until now; we’ll have the opportunity to know the latest trends of the archaeological research that, far from being limited to historical inquiry, reaches the stage of innovation and creation of commercial products. But probably, our audience will be especially surprised seeing the great contribution of Basque people in other cultures of the planet.

The adventure of organizing this edition had a happy ending; we hope now to enjoy and share the program with you.
