The Lady of Elche is more than just an extraordinary sculpture of
Iberian cultural tradition, as is revealed by her popularity. The
sculpture has had an eventful history between its discovery and eventual
siting in the Museum of Archaeology of Madrid. This time, an
alternative vision is offered, far removed from these iconic aspects,
that takes us back to the quarrying of the stone used to carve this
enigmatic, elegant and evocative female bust.
