International Bidasoa Archaeological Film Festival

Presentation

FICAB Itinerante is a strategic plan set up within FICAB–the International Bidasoa Archaeological Film Festival. This program was conceived with a clear aim: to bring archaeological cinema to the public in their own neighbourhoods and to disseminate historical knowledge through audiovisual language.

To this end, FICAB itinerante arranges the screening of the films participating in the festival in a range of locations, expanding their reach and cultural impact, and bringing these productions closer to new audiences.

Philosophy and objectives

Archaeology is not just about digging; it also involves story telling, interpreting and sharing. In essence, it is an educational undertaking in which cinema becomes an essential ally.

Ficab itinerante seeks to overcome barriers and turn museums and cultural centres into melting pots of science, history and emotion interpreted by the unique language of cinema.
