In 2017, construction work on the new communication lines between Nimes and Montpellier came to an end. For several years, the archaeologists of INRAP (Institut National de Recherches Archéologiques) had the chance to dig at hundreds of archaeological sites discovered along paths used for thousands of years. Dolmens and hypogeas, medieval, ancient and neolithic villages, etc. This archaeological investigation allows us to go back in time to the original traces left by prehistoric man as he passed through. It will also allow us to ponder the modification of the environment, territorial planning over time in one of the richest regions in Europe in terms of heritage material.
