The paintings of the amphitheater of Pompeii

3D reconstruction of the Pompeii amphitheater with restitution of the

pictorial decorations reported by the extraordinary Morelli’s watercolors.

The Pompeii amphitheater shown in its original appearance: starting

from a bird’s flight over today’s remains of the monument, we will be

able to see the arena rebuilt together with the adjacent urban context.

The aim of the video is to show how the interior of the cavea was largely

covered with frescoes, that have disappeared today and are known to us

only through Morelli’s watercolors exhibited in the Museum.
