The Eagle

Roman legionary Marcus Aquila travels from Rome to trace the Ninth Legion, a contingent that disappeared 20 years ago in the Scottish Uplands. Marcus’s father is among the missing. He is accompanied on his quest by his servant, Esca, an English slave. Their adventure plays out in this wild, savage landscape in a tale that combines violent action with growing bonds of friendship.
